spring cowl

I finally have a couple shots of me modeling the new cowl described in my last post.

My 11-year-old son had the privilege of being my photographer today.  I think he did a pretty good job too! And now you can see how the cowl looks on a person instead of just hanging on a bedpost.

So tell me what you think!  {I'll even say "please!"}

How does it look?  {No, not how do I look--that's not the issue here.  I really want to know how the cowl looks!}

Do you like the drape?  What do you think of the lacy texture?

Would you like to see it in another color? If so, what would you suggest?

Any other thoughts/suggestions for revising this design or do you like it as it is?

I await your comments!!!

  1. Okay, I don't wear cowls and I'm not much of a fashion expert, but you asked for opinions. I like the drape and texture, but I think it looks too big. That could just be me since I don't wear them (and don't tend to go places where I see other people wearing them - they just don't show up at the studio).

    I'm sure it would be great in other colors. What those colors are would depend on the person buying it and what colors are in their wardrobe. The white is nice, and a basic black would probably also work well. Both white and black are very versatile colors (though black would probably be better for fall/winter rather than spring).

    Just my 2 cents.

  2. Thank you! I appreciate your comment!

    I've seen a lot of big cowls lately in knitting magazines and patterns that I'm sure have influenced my own knitting design/style. I could very easily change this cowl to be longer but narrower. That is, long enough to wrap around the neck twice without choking oneself and narrow enough to make it not quite so bulky. Perhaps, if I keep working on this design, I'll have it "perfect" by fall! :D

  3. Your out-buildings make amazing photo backdrops. I don't know much about cowls (nothing, truth be told!) but I would like to think that I know a teeny little bit about photography and that is a cool backdrop! Great job Tommy.
